The Page's Full Coverage of the Thursday Morning Shows

Obama strategist David Axelrod on MSNBC's “Morning Joe” downplayed criticism of Obama's debate performance, saying it was “50 minutes before a question on any substantive issue was asked.” Thinks people have moved on from Rev. Wright, “cling” comments but media keeps harping on them.
Brushed off idea that GOP will hammer Obama on such issues in general. Axelrod and cast drooled over Springsteen endorsement.
McCain backer Sen. Lieberman said he'll do “anything I can to help” McCain, including speak at GOP convention. Said concerns over Iraq War's cost are overblown, and losing will be much more expensive. Said McCain has better judgment, more experience than Obama, singling out the Democrat's willingness to meet with Ahmadinejad without preconditions.
Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson said Obama flopped in debate, was “very much on his heels” and didn't have answers to questions that will come up if he's the nominee. Assured there's no truth to reports Clinton said “screw ‘em” when referring to working class whites in ‘95. Reiterated his argument that Obama is fighting hard in Pennsylvania so it would be telling if he loses. Sure Clinton can drink him “under the table.”
McCain adviser Charlie Black dismissed concerns about McCain's age, saying Reagan won the Cold War when he was much older. Said debate questions were legitimate, but “political baggage” will not decide election. Said McCain is in no rush to choose a VP, and his turnaround came after improvements in Iraq.
Black touched similar issues on “Fox & Friends,” repeating “baggage” statement, criticized Dems on economic proposals talked about at debate, contrasted with McCain. Watch segment here.
