This Week: Sen. Lieberman for McCain and Sen. Jack Reed for Obama debated the candidates' positions on Iraq, Iran and Israel. Lieberman said Obama has altered his position on Iraq and is moving toward McCain's point of view. Reed defended Obama's Thursday statements on Iraq.
Lieberman also clarified his remarks about another terrorist attack looming, said US government is worried about the Iranians, terorists trying to question or test a new president so the country needs someone who is ready Day One.
Barr railed about the federal government's spending, said his goal is to open up the electoral system. Was tough against both McCain and Obama. Roundtable with Mark Halperin, Jonathan Capehart, Michelle Cottle, Ted Koppel.
Face the Nation: Sen. Lindsey Graham for McCan and John Kerry for Obama debated on Iraq, Middle East policy. Kerry blamed the Republicans and the GOP for twisting Obama's “refine my position” on Iraq flap Thursday. Called McCain a bigger flip flopper than anything he was every accused of as a candidate.
Graham disparaged Obama for not visiting Iraq in a couple years, said he's “in a box” because when he visits Iraq he'll have to come back and admit the surge is working. Said Obama “loves to reinvent himself” every month.
