There’s no way to really know with any exactness what messages get through to voters of any type in paid and earned media. Romney clearly had some successful stagecraft on his Israel stop, including some good newspaper pictures.
But these soundbites in interviews with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer are going to be music to Chicago ears:
Peres: “When I look at the record of President Obama concerning the major issues, security, I think it’s a highly satisfactory record, from an Israeli point of view.”
Barak: “I should tell you honestly that this administration under President Obama is doing, in regard to our security, more than anything that I can remember in the past…. In terms of the support for our security, the cooperation of our intelligence, the sharing of sorts in a very open way even when there are differences.”
New York’s John Heilemann wrote awhile back about the President’s record on Israel, and/but how not all American Jews think the current administration has been as strong on the region’s politics as they would like.
