Sunday Sparring Between Romney and Giuliani

On Sunday:

Giuliani blames Romney for negativity and Romney's money for his poll standing. And hits Romney on economic record, health plan in NH appearance.

"He sort of did Hillary's plan in Massachusetts." Watch video here.

In response, Romney campaign calls Giuliani "nasty" (using that very loaded term about Giuliani for apparently the first time in the cycle). Read response here.

Giuliani personally keeps oppo research on Romney crime record in his pocket to share with the AP.

And: Romney campaign greatest hits press release lays out Giuliani-is-liberal-like-Clinton charge.

After attacks from Giuliani, Romney smacks back hard in NH: “You know, he has a real problem with facts.” Says Giuliani acting out of “desperation perhaps born out by the polls in New Hampshire.”

Likens Giuliani to Clinton on (almost) all the major hot-button issues:

“He is pro-choice like Hillary Clinton. He is in favor of civil union like Hillary Clinton. He is in favor of sanctuary cities like Hillary Clinton. And the record of ethical conduct from, in this case Bernie Kerik, reminds us very of the administration that Hillary Clinton was part of in Washington.”

Giuliani's campaign manager swats back, calling Romney “a mediocre one-term governor.”
