Sunday Show Roundup

Various Networks

Meet the Press: Obama supporter Dodd expresses admiration for the Clintons, agrees with Kennedy that an Obama-Clinton ticket is unlikely.

Clinton campaign chair McAuliffe, who some consider the greatest chairman in the history of the Democratic Party, said the race isn’t over and laid out Clinton’s path to the nomination (”Anything can happen.”), including predicting Clinton would win the popular vote. He said he would accept an agreement in which Florida and Michigan got half their delegates seated at the convention, based on the primary results. Said Clinton would continue through the end of the primaries, and looked towards the DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee.

Fox News Sunday: Obama strategist Axelrod expressed openness to the idea of joint town halls and debates with McCain starting this summer, said to expect more superdelegates to keep coming out for Obama, and was very gracious towards Sen. Clinton, including over her USA Today remarks.

Clinton strategist Wolfson tried to keep focus on West Virginia primary (and why Obama isn’t fully competing there), advocated for inclusion of Florida and Michigan, but avoided direct answers about how that might happen and how it would impact her campaign.

This Week: Harry Reid said the party should “just relax” and let the campaign continue, expects winner within days of June 3, defended Clinton on “white Americans” comment. Said of McCain, “everybody knows that he has a real unusual temper.”

McCain aide Carly Fiorina stressed his differences with Bush, agreed with Clinton’s dismissal of economists on gas tax, defended Cindy McCain’s refusal to release tax records despite the call for Teresa Kerry to release hers in 2004.

Face the Nation: John Edwards repeated views from last week, saying the math strongly favors Obama and urging Clinton not to hurt the party’s prospects in November. Said he was encouraged by McCain’s commitment to poverty issues after a conversation last month.

McAuliffe called for continuing the voting process, defended importance of Puerto Rico’s primary, sought to move on from “white Americans” comment.

Late Edition: Reps. Roy Blunt, Chris Van Hollen, Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez (Ret.), Iraqi Ambassador to the U.S. Samir Sumaidaie. Full transcript here.

Plus: McCain to do Saturday Night Live next Saturday.
