Pool Report of Obamas at the Kennedy Center
Pool Report #2, 02/06/09
POTUS, FLOTUS and daughters stayed until the end of a two and a quarter
hour performance by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at the Kennedy
Center, according to a White House official, although the pool left the
building before the end.
Motorcade departed the Kennedy Center 10.00pm, arrived South Lawn 10.04pm
after an uneventful ride through deserted DC streets.
Here's some more color from the photographs taken of POTUS and family as
they were introduced to the audience before the show:
POTUS was wearing a dark suit, white shirt and red tie; FLOTUS wore a black
jacket decorated with a large silver broach. Audience members hung over the
balcony above the presidential box trying to reach down to shake hands.
FLOTUS and daughters smiled broadly as they waved at the crowd. One woman
in an adjacent box appeared to be shrieking with delight at her close
encounter with the First Family.
And that's a lid.
