Pool Report: Obama Meets With Medvedev

Subject: Pool report 4

Inside the Kremlin, President Obama sat down for his first meeting with President Medvedev. The pool was allowed into an ornate, gilded sitting room to hear the two make introductory remarks (which you'll see transcribed soon).

Medvedev said he expects that, in their talks, the two will be closing some debates of the past and opening some debates of the future.

Obama said he thinks the Russians and Americans "have more in common than they have differences." The two shook hands and smiled for the cameras before the pool was ushered out.

The pool is now holding in a larger room with a long, empty table, awaiting arrival of staffers for the expanded meeting.
