On "This Week," Speaker Pelosi said she will not allow votes on oil drilling, calling it "a decoy, not a solution" and saying "nothing less is at stake than the planet." Said recent McCain ad is "not humorous, I think it's silly." Promoted Texas Rep. Chet Edwards as an Obama running mate.

Tom Ridge said he hopes abortion views are not a "litmus test" for McCain's VP, and predicted the party would accept anyone he accepts. Said Obama is giving "a head fake" on oil drilling, suggesting he supports it while remaining opposed.

On "Fox News Sunday:" Sen. Graham said McCain "doesn't have a racist bone in his body." On Obama's "dollar bill comments," said "we're not going to put up with this." Accused Obama of "living off celebrity, not ideas." Said Republicans have been "begging" Obama to participate in town hall meetings, but he "doesn't want to be tested."

Tom Daschle said Obama never accused McCain of being racist, suggested Obama's comments referred to his youth and approach to politics. Said Obama has "always been in favor of offshore drilling," and that he never got a response from McCain on his counter-proposal for town halls. Called McCain's the "most gaffe-prone candidacy we've seen in a long time."

On "Face the Nation:" Obama adviser Robert Rubin said Obama did not change his mind on offshore drilling, but is merely willing to make some compromises to reach a "highly constructive" energy plan.

McCain adviser Carly Fiorina called oil drilling "an important part" of McCain's energy plan, said he opposes hiking payroll taxes despite saying "everything's on the table" in terms of Social Security.

On "Meet the Press:" Sen. Kerry said McCain's recent ads engage in "character assassination" and play to voters' "worst instincts." Said Obama wants to avoid drilling offshore, despite his recent comments, and called it a "fraudulent offering." Also said Gen. Clark's comments about McCain's POW service are "entirely inappropriate" and he is "in awe" of McCain's POW service.

Sen. Lieberman said "we all ought to relax a little bit" about McCain's ads, saying they were simply "a bit of humor." Said Obama's "dollar bill" comments were "a personal insult to John McCain," and the campaign was right to blow the whistle. Acknowledged changing his own view on offshore drilling because "we're in a crisis." Said he doesn't yet know if he will speak at the GOP convention.
