CHICAGO, IL – The Obama for America campaign today announced that Barack Obama will participate in two more debates before the March 4 primaries. He has accepted an invitation to participate in a debate at Cleveland State University hosted by NBC News and WKYC, the NBC affiliate in Cleveland. The debate is schedule for Tuesday, February 26th. NBC affiliates throughout Ohio have agreed to carry the debate, which include those in Cincinnati, Columbus, Toledo, Dayton, Lima, Steubenville, Youngstown, and Zanesville. The Obama campaign will soon announce participation in a debate in Texas, before the primary on March 4.
The Ohio debate will be moderated by Brian Williams and Tim Russert. It will be streamed live on MSNBC.com, and it will air on Telemundo the same evening after it is translated into Spanish.
“As Barack Obama travels throughout Texas and Ohio listening to voters' concerns and laying out his plans to jumpstart the stalled economy, renegotiate trade deals that needlessly cost American jobs, and ensure that homeowners are can afford their mortgages, he looks forward to having a conversation with Hillary Clinton before voters about the choice they face in this race,” said Obama campaign manager David Plouffe. “As with the 18 debates and numerous forums Obama has already participated in, we believe this debate will provide the largest number of voters in upcoming primaries the chance to compare the candidates one-on-one.”
