Morning Show Summary

Various Networks

NBC (shades of the Swift Boat ads) backs into Wright coverage by covering the fact that cable news has been covering the story by playing the videos. Chris Matthews was on “Today” live, where he suggested (correctly) that Speaker Pelosi seems to be tilting toward Obama.ABC’s “Good Morning America” spot looked at the arguments over Clinton’s true foreign policy record and Obama’s limited formal experience — with dueling soundbites from their advisers Susan Rice and Jamie Rubin.

Matthew Dowd and Cokie Roberts were also on GMA live.

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” plays extended excerpts of Obama pastor’s controversial speeches. McCain adviser Charlie Black gave Obama a full pass on the Wright rhetoric, echoing the Arizonan’s view that candidates should not be held responsible for what their supporters and endorsers say. He also said he “take(s) him at his word” that Obama is not a Muslim.

On CNN’s “American Morning,” Florida Democratic Chair Karen Thurman said mail-in votes have been successful in other states, and a final decision on her plan will be made Monday. Said everyone must agree to any delegate solution, and acknowledged that time is running out.
