Key Exchange Between NPR’s “On Point” and Gov. Rendell
TOM ASHBROOK: …Can she bring off a numbers victory here without
bringing in Florida and Michigan? Is that necessary to a Clinton
success? And would it be fair to do that?
GOV. ED RENDELL: Well, first of all, I don’t think she can get to the
numbers without Florida and Michigan, but it would be manifestly unfair
to disenfranchise Florida and Michigan…
TOM ASHBROOK: How does this end? And what about, I’ve read just this
morning people are saying that it may be that Gov. Rendell one day soon
might have to go to Senator Clinton and say, “Well, that’s it.” You must
have read the same thing.
GOV. ED RENDELL: Yeah, but I don’t think that it is it…I think we
should let every state vote. I think Senator Clinton is going to win
crushing victories in West Virginia and Kentucky and Puerto Rico and
hold her own in the other states…People should take advantage of the
polls and figure out the electoral math…It’s going to be an
interesting three or four weeks. Let the people vote, and I would
suggest that if there is any way to let Michigan and Florida vote, I
would love to have seen it. We tried to work to get Michigan to approve
a new primary, the DNC was for it, but unfortunately the Obama folks
killed it in the Michigan legislature…
