WEEKEND GUIDANCE FOR DR. JILL BIDEN
FRIDAY, JULY 3, SATURDAY, JULY 4 AND SUNDAY, JULY 5, 2009
Dr. Jill Biden will arrive in the morning on Friday, July 3, in Germany to celebrate the Independence Day holiday with service members and their families stationed in Germany at the U.S. Army Garrisons Bamberg and Schweinfurt. This visit is part of Dr. Biden's ongoing work to raise awareness and show appreciation for members of the military and their families. At 11:00 AM local time, Dr. Biden will arrive at the U.S. Army Garrison Bamberg to spend the day visiting with soldiers. Portions of this visit are open to the media, but space is limited. Saturday, July 4th:
On Saturday at 12:00 PM local time, Dr. Biden will visit with soldiers and families at the Independence Day celebrations at Kessler Field at the U.S. Army Garrison Schweinfurt. Sunday, July 5th:
On Sunday at 5:00 PM local time, Dr. Biden will deliver a keynote address at the Opening Ceremony of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (“UNESCO”) 2009 World Conference on Higher Education. Dr. Biden will serve as head of the U.S. delegation to the conference, and her remarks will highlight the Obama-Biden Administration's commitment to higher education and the critical role of community colleges in the higher education system. This event, which will take place at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, is open to the media.
