HALPERIN'S TAKE: Clinton, the Exit Polls, the Media and Obama

Political and media insiders might give Clinton more of a bump from Super Tuesday's results than they otherwise would have because of the private flow-of-the-day based on the exit polls.

Early results not made public but circulated widely in the early evening to and from the Democratic campaigns suggested Clinton was behind in the key states of Massachusetts and New Jersey -- states she is now projected to win.

In the psycho-shared-sense of the media that gives some of Clinton's wins -- and overall night -- a "comeback kid" quality, the "comeback" is only virtual in the mind of the media as they gamed out the evening's anticipated results.

A comparable -- but opposite -- thing might be happening with McCain. More on that to come.
