Giuliani Aide Tony Carbonetti Talks to Reporters in St. Petersburg About Billing Controversy
Tells reporters in debate hall press room prior to event that both he and Giuliani just learned about the controversy involving the billing records Wednesday that showed security cost in "tens of thousands" funneled through obscure city agencies apparently not connected to security for former mayor's trips to the Hamptons with future wife Judith Nathan. Says there was no effort to hide any costs and the mayor didn't know about them until now because they were incurred by the police department and not under his control. Responds to question about rival campaign involvement in release: it's "a possibility." Watch interview above.
