DEMOCRATS' SIDE: They say McCain is “confused” and “unbelievably out of touch” on morning conference call.

Sen. Kerry: “What Sen. McCain has articulated again today… is a policy for staying in Iraq, and it's completely contrary to the desires as well as the needs of the American people.

Obama adviser Susan Rice: “This is yet one further indication of his striking lack of appreciation of the burden Iraq is putting on our military.”
