Clinton's Response on Tax Returns
In case you missed what Sen. Clinton said about tax returns today, here's the Q&A from her avail at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg:
Q: Now that Senator Obama has released his tax returns, will you release yours prior to April 15th and release the entire documents along with the schedules?
HRC: I anticipate being able to release them shortly, I hope within the next week. I am pleased that Senator Obama has released his tax returns. I think that's a good first step. Now he should release his records from being in the State Senate and any other information that the public and press need to know from his prior experience, because I think that, you know, we should continue to make available the information that we have. And I will be releasing my tax returns.
Background on HRC finance information:
More than 20 years of Clinton tax returns have been released to the public as well as 15 years of annual disclosure reports detailing the sources of her income that have been available to the public . We have said repeatedly that we will release the Clinton's tax returns from the post White House years.
ON THE FACT THAT SENATOR OBAMA refuses to release his state senate records, here's a quote from me: “Sen. Obama should either release his state senate records or acknowledge that his time in the state senate – which is the bulk of the experience he claims prepares him to be president and commander-in-chief – was so inconsequential that there wasn't a single document from that era worth retaining.”
