Clinton Release on Rep. Baca Endorsement

U.S. REPRESENTATIVE JOE BACA ENDORSES HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT

Endorsement Shows Momentum for Clinton Campaign in Southern California

LOS ANGELES, CA – In the wake of Hillary's huge victory in Nevada, the Clinton Campaign in California continues to gain momentum as today Hillary Clinton received the endorsement of U.S. Congressman Joe Baca of California's 43rd Congressional District. Rep. Baca will join as Co-Chair of the campaign's National Hispanic Leadership Council.

“Agriculture and rural development are key issues for my constituents in California's 43rd district and as Senator, Hillary Clinton has delivered powerful results for Americans working in rural upstate New York,” said Congressman Baca. “Rural Americans have never been invisible to Hillary Clinton and she will continue to work for their rights and prosperity as president.”

Congressman Joe Baca was elected to congress in 1999 and represents the 43rd District of California, which includes the cities of Colton, Fontana, Rialto, Ontario and San Bernardino, as well as the areas of Bloomington and Muscoy. The son of a railroad worker in New Mexico, Representative Baca moved to California with his family as a young boy and was eventually drafted into the U.S. Army in 1966.

Today, Congressman Baca serves on the House Agriculture Committee, where he has been a leading voice fighting to protect funds for “food stamps” for needy Americans. As a member of the House Financial Services Committee, he has focused on working on key legislation to address the foreclosure crisis.  He also serves in the House Natural Resources Committee, as a member of the Water and Power Subcommittee. In this role, he has fought to protect the access to clean water for his constituents  by securing funds to clean up perchlorate-contaminated groundwater in the Inland Empire,

“I am honored to receive Congressman Joe Baca's endorsement as he has been an incredible advocate for working people in California's rural communities,” said Senator Clinton. “As President I will continue to work for rural America by creating a new era of prosperity by providing health care to every American, making college more affordable, reducing taxes for lower- and middle-class families, and investing in clean energy.
