Me on Hagel and Senate Democrats, from “Morning Joe”:

JOE SCARBOROUGH: To say Chuck Hagel is outside of the mainstream of political thought when it comes to foreign policy, that’s just not true.

MARK HALPERIN: You take him on paper, his resume for this job is sterling. He’s close to Vice President Biden. That’s something that no one could say was anything but a big positive. But, I will tell you, look at the Sunday shows yesterday and, in general, this debate over the last two weeks, the dog that is not barking is vocal support from Senate Democrats. There’s a reason, or several reasons, why Senate Democrats are not out there defending Chuck Hagel as vociferously as Republicans are attacking him and that is the one danger area.
