From MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports”:
ANDREA MITCHELL: Who would’ve ever thought that Bill Clinton would be the chief Obama surrogate in this final week, now writing a rebuttal, apparently, to the Des Moines Register, to their editorial endorsement of Mitt Romney.
MARK HALPERIN: Andrea, we don’t need to be on the plane with Bill Clinton today to know exactly what mode he’s in. He’s on the phone. He’s calling around for polls. He’s polishing that op-ed that he’s writing for the Des Moines Register, which is clearly intended as kind of a rebuttal to the paper’s endorsement of Mitt Romney. Bill Clinton is going to be in this last week the way I think he was in 1996, when he was running for his own election: trying to get as many campaign stops in as possible. And with the President sidelined dealing with the storm, it’s bigger than it was even before.
