Here’s what to expect from the First Lady’s Tuesday night marquee address:
Look for her to amplify the convention’s main theme — building the economy from the middle class out. That is what Chicago thinks will be the winning card in the end, with a contrast to Mitt Romney’s image and policies that the Republicans can’t match. Democrats have an advantage on this theme now, and believe that Charlotte will reinforce their edge.
The First Lady will also do the character witness thing that she did so well in 2008 and does on the trail this cycle, testifying about the President’s grit and determination in making tough decisions during challenging times.
There will also be a section on military families, an issue on which the First Lady has spent a ton of time and is both close to her heart and political gold.
