What Happens in North Vegas…

Here’s the scene at Sierra Truck Body and Equipment, the company fifteen minutes from the Strip where Mitt Romney is going to talk about the new unemployment numbers, his slimmed down jobs plan, and all other manner of economica.

Some things you should know about this event, even if you aren’t an historian of the campaign:

  • It is being held a battery-propelled stone’s throw from the North Las Vegas firm where Romney unveiled his 59-point economic plan back in September.
  • As the Las Vegas Sun reported then, “North Las Vegas has been a favorite backdrop for Romney, who stopped there in April to highlight the country’s employment problems, returned in June to film a campaign commercial to decry President Barack Obama’s jobs record and chose it again to underscore the area’s 14 percent unemployment rate.”
  • The percentage of Hispanics in the crowd appears to be about the same as in the audience for Romney’s event on caucus night (which is to say: not all that high).
