San Antonio Mayor Juilan Castro, who was announced Tuesday as the keynote speaker for the Charlotte convention, is a political superstar.

He and his brother, a state legislator, have an incredible rags-to-riches story that includes Stanford and Harvard degrees. Here’s a video of Castro discussing his speech:

When the national media starts spending time with him, they are going to see charisma and talent that will prompt a ton of Obama 2004 comparisons.

Now, he’s just got to execute that speech.
