At this point, I’m not really sure who is in a more politically tenuous position on the health care/taxes issue, Barack Obama or Mitt Romney.

Both sides are spending the holiday week trying to put the opposition between a boulder and a hard place, with various press releases and surrogate chatter.

I’m pretty sure that the election won’t be decided on who gets the better of this debate, however.

As for the sniping from Bill Kristol and the Wall Street Journal ed board about the quality of the Romney campaign: Boston isn’t perfect, and/but this kind of carping-from-the-bleachers is quite common, but usually when a campaign is on the ropes. I bet the candidate does not give a tinker’s darn about it.
