I’ve said for a while I thought there was about zero percent chance Marco Rubio would be picked as Mitt Romney’s running mate — a view informed and shared by many of those closest to the superstar Florida freshman Senator and by many in Romney’s orbit.

Now that ABC News’ Jon Karl is reporting that Rubio isn’t being vetted by Boston, perhaps the madness of speculation about a Romney-Rubio ticket can be put aside and we can focus on the real question: will it be Rob Portman or someone else?
