In interview with CNN's Piers Morgan, Gingrich's two daughters make an emotional defense of their father's character and appeal for his candidacy.
Jackie Gingrich Cushman: "He’s the son of an infantry man. His father served 27 years in the infantry. So a lot of what Dad does is through service to his country. And again, he’s had a very clear vision of what he wants to go with the American people....The man that he is today is much more patient, much more interested in listening to people."
Kathy Gingrich Lubbers: "Our father is very much equal opportunity in the realm of his heart. He doesn’t — I can't imagine anyone who actually knows him having any room to even discuss the fact of whether or not he has an issue with race. That is not the man we know."
