Boehner: “Take a Breath”


At Thursday morning on-camera briefing, Speaker says lawmakers need to “step back,” plays down possibility of a government closure.

Boehner: “There’s no need to shut down the government and Senator Reid has signaled they may not do that after all.”

Extols bipartisanship.

Reaffirms Keystone pipeline “is the right thing to do for the country.”

Insists Dems never had the votes for the millionaires surtax: “They didn’t give anything up because they never had it.”
