New NBC/Marist poll finds President leads Romney in Iowa and shrinks the Bay Stater’s 9-point New Hampshire advantage from Oct. survey.

IA: Obama 46Romney 39
NH: Romney 46Obama 43

Iowa poll conducted Nov. 27 — 29, 2011. Margin of error 1.8 points.

New Hampshire poll conducted Nov. 28 — 30, 2011. Margin of error 2.1 points.

Make no mistake: these are very good numbers for the White House. Along with Friday's jobs numbers, these digits will help create a new Obama-is-the-favorite conventional wisdom.
