Ping Pong back-and-forth puts Cain at odds with NH Union Leader over scuttled Thurs. sit down.

Cain spox J.D. Gordon tells NBC News it was the Union Leader who nixed the meeting after editorial page editor Drew Cline tweets the Georgian canceled the interview after first saying he would only sit for 20 minutes.

Cline to The Page: "I think we are able to confirm the Cain campaign's assertion that it is running a very different kind of presidential campaign. However, we would have a different view of how well that is going to work out for the candidate."

In another email, Cline says the paper "told [Cain's camp] 20 minutes wasn't good enough for a sit-down interview, and they said they'd get back to us, but they never did."
