Cain Denies Charges

In Phoenix presser, Georgian, taking the podium with notes, says he “will not be deterred by false, anonymous, incorrect accusations,” vows his campaign “will get through this.”

Cain: “I have never acted inappropriately with anyone, period. I saw Miss Allred and her client yesterday in that news conference for the very first time.”

Georgian gives calm, measured responses to reporters’ questions, accuses the “Democratic machine” of bringing forward this “troubled woman” to wage charges against him.

Says he “absolutely would” take a lie detector test IF “I have a good reason to do that.”

Does not rule out remembering Bialek later: “That’s a possibility but I think it’s a remote possibility.”

Cain says Washington will not force him to “withdraw” from the race.

Polling frontrunner on Bialek’s financial troubles: “From a common sense standpoint one would have to ask if that might not have been a motivation.”
