It is unusual for a campaign, let alone a candidate, to publicly revel in one set of poll numbers, but Team Cain plays by its own set of rules. Many members of the Chattering Class assumed that debate scrutiny of 9-9-9 and his series of gaffes would sink Cain. Spend some time on the road with the man and you will see, however, as the song says, there’s something happening out there. It isn’t clear what will/could burst the Cain balloon but it doesn’t appear to have happened yet.
