How the new recruits were hired and what they will do.
From a source familiar with the hirings:
Warfield and Anderson will primarily be members of the message and media team that will produce the Perry campaign’s ads. They will join Perry’s longtime media man David Weeks, as the team leader and another new hire, Jim Innocenzi. Warfield and Anderson are expected to pitch in in other areas as needed.
The team first gathered in Austin on October 13, prior to the Las Vegas debate.
Warfield was in Florida for the P5 straw poll (at which Perry underperformed), doing work for his client, Governor Rick Scott. Perry campaign manager Rob Johnson and strategist Dave Carney talked with Warfield about the campaign there. Anderson and Tony Fabrizio also worked for Scott’s campaign.
