Thurs. Briefing

Gaddafi and Libya top the PressSec’s agenda.

Carney repeats President’s words, says “long and winding road” ahead for Libyans.

Carney: “We have, we believe, a good feeling and understanding of [TNC].”

When Obama made decision to authorize strikes, Carney says, “at the time, faced with potential massacre at the hands of the Gaddafi regime.”

PressSec: “Actions taken by his administration and by NATO have helped the Libyan people reach this day and they now have the opportunity to secure a much brighter and a democratic future.”

On Biden’s assertion less cops on the street will contribute to rise in crime: “I don’t know any lawmaker who can contest that simple fact.”
