More Americans, 48% to 37%, say 44 doing a better job than 43.

Plus: Obama leads the GOP field in head-to-head match-ups.

This is why the current president is so often tempted to run against the Bush legacy. Holding his predecessor responsible for much of what ails the nation still is a tempting tact. But, in the end, Chicago knows that is not the way to win.
