This helps Romney big time in at least five ways. One, it unlocks about a million dollars (or more) in Jersey money. Two, it sprinkles Romney with some of the Christie fairy dust that falls off the broad shoulders of one of the hottest politicians in America. Three, it gives Romney some of Christies' Tea Party, anti-spending cred. Four, it keeps the "Romney on a roll with the Establishment" meme going. And, five, it implicitly helps keep Perry marginalized as a Southern/regional candidate. Voters don't care much about endorsements, but, for the donor community, other governors, and the Christie-loving media, this is as good a get as exists in the party today.
