WASHINGTON – On Friday, September 9, the President will travel to the University of Richmond to talk about the bipartisan proposals to grow the economy and create jobs that he laid out in his speech to a joint session of Congress on Thursday. The President’s remarks at the University of Richmond are open to pre-credentialed media and are open to ticketed members of the public. The arrival and departure of Air Force One at Richmond International Airport are open to pre-credentialed media, but closed to the public.
Members of the media who wish to cover the arrival/departure of Air Force One at Richmond International airport, should RSVP HERE by 12pm ET, Thursday September 8.
Members of the media who wish to cover the President’s remarks at the University of Richmond should RSVP HERE by 12pm ET, Thursday September 8.
Note: Media organizations that wish to cover both events should plan on sending separate crews to the airport and the town hall, as a single crew will not be able to cover both events.

Directions from I-64 E: Take Exit 197A and merge onto VA-156 S/South Airport Drive toward Sandston. Continue to follow South Airport Drive. Turn left onto Fox Road.

NOTE: Media who wish to cover departure must arrive for Air Force One arrival. Media who leave after Air Force One arrival will not be able to re-access the airport to cover departure.

Satellite truck directions from I-95: Take Exit 79 onto I-64 Westbound. From either direction, take the immediate left exit ramp onto I-195 Southbound. Go approximately 2 miles, and exit for “VA 147/Cary St./Grove Avenue.”
On the ramp, make the first right. At the stop sign, turn right; then turn left at the next traffic light onto Grove Avenue westbound.
Follow Grove Avenue approximately two miles until it ends at a traffic light at Three Chopt Rd. Turn right onto Three Chopt Rd.
Go approximately one-quarter mile, and make a wide left turn onto Towana Dr. Go straight, passing the Gateway Dr (entrance to the university). At the stop sign, turn left onto College Rd.
Just past Robins Stadium, on the left, turn left into the north entrance parking area, between the stadium and the Robins Center arena.
Media parking: Directed on-site. Please follow signs on campus to find designated event parking.

Members of the general public: The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are required and will be available at the following ticket distribution location from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2011. Tickets will be limited and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
