Santorum Swipes Romney, Huntsman

Former Pennsylvania Sen., speaking from the Hawkeye State, says avoiding Iowa “shows weakness, not strength.”

Santorum will have a chance to make this charge face-to-face when Romney and Huntsman put aside their relative Iowa aversions to debate there in a few weeks. But they shouldn't be lumped together by Santorum or anyone else. Huntsman has made it clear that he plans to bypass Iowa (little or no campaigning there, beyond debates, no cash money for TV or organizing), while Romney, still leading in Hawkeye State polls, could end up winning the caucuses and getting the nomination with relative ease. So don’t be surprised if he runs a subterranean effort there, and evaluates his options 45-60 days out.
