McConnell has more running room than John Boehner right now, but, as the New York Times pointed out the other day in a piece we belatedly recommend as Essential Reading, the Senate Minority Leader and the Speaker have been thick as thieves throughout this Congress, even as they deal with slightly different challenges in their respective conferences.
