On what he would do differently regarding the economy: set better expectations. “Even I did not realize the magnitude … of the recession until fairly far into it.”

On jobs: “You can combine high tech with manufacturing, and then you get the best of both worlds.”

Boehner’s question about jobs gets asked; POTUS lightly deems it “skewed.”

On education: “Every time we’ve made a public investment in education, it has paid off many times over.”

On taxes: “Let’s make permanent the Bush tax cuts for low and moderate income folks … If all we do is just go back to the pre-Bush tax cut rates for the top income brackets, for millionaires and billionaires, that would raise hundreds of millions of dollars.”
