The Perfect Job Czar

Barack Obama touted in North Carolina today Bill Clinton’s role (along with GE’s Jeffrey Immelt) doing outreach to the private sector on energy efficiency efforts that can lead to job creation.

But what if Clinton agreed to serve as an overall private sector employment overlord? Imagine how tough it would be for Republicans to go hard at the administration on the jobs issue (as they plan to do Monday night in their debate and every day for the next year plus) if they had to win the argument with Bill Clinton, focused like a laser beam on jobs, jobs, jobs.

There are a million reasons why this will never happen (both on the Obama side and the Clinton side), but from the White House’s point of view, there is one GREAT reason to make it happen — it would practically guarantee the (current) president’s re-election.
