Pelosi and Co. Arrive in Afghanistan

Dem Leader and bipartisan delegation meet with Karzai, Eikenberry on unannounced trip.

Pelosi and Delegation Arrive in Afghanistan

Kabul, Afghanistan - Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and a bipartisan Congressional Delegation arrived in Afghanistan today, where they are visiting with U.S. troops and receiving briefings from U.S. Ambassador Karl Eikenberry, and other senior military and civilian officials.

The delegation also met with President Hamid Karzai to discuss the political and security situation in Afghanistan, including the transition of responsibility for security to the Afghans.

In addition to Democratic Leader Pelosi, the members of the delegation are:

· Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT)

· Congressman John Mica (R-FL)

· Congressman Leonard Boswell (D-IA)

· Congressman Bill Pascrell (D-NJ)
