If this allegation gains momentum, it will change the Libya storyline in the US dramatically. Few events in recent American history have as much emotional resonance as this bombing. The charge could ratchet up the pressure on the Obama administration to act more forcefully than it has so far. It will almost certainly embolden critics of the president who have cast him as "soft" on the Middle East in general.
