Obama Goes on YouTube

Competition, Egypt and legalization of drugs top agenda in president's question and answer session with YouTube users.

On minorities' achievement gap: "One of the reasons it's so important to close the achievement gap is because the population is going to increasingly Hispanic."

On Super Bowl: "I'm going to have to stay neutral."

On Egypt: "“President Mubarak has been very helpful on a range of tough issues in the Middle East. But I've always said to him that making sure that they are moving forward on reform - political reform, economic reform - is absolutely critical to the long-term well being of Egypt.”

On legalization of drugs: "I think this is an entirely legitimate topic for debate. I am not in favor of legalization. I am a strong believer that we have to think more about drugs as a public health problem... When you think about other damaging activities in our society - smoking, drunk driving, making sure you're wearing seatbelts - typically we make huge strides over the last 20, 30 years by changing people's attitude. And on drugs, I think we've been so focused on arrests, incarceration, interdiction, that we don't spend as much time how do we shrink demand. This is something at the White House we are looking at very carefully."
