Re-Election Victory

Markell Praises Lynch’s Strong Record of Leadership

Washington, D.C. – Gov. Jack Markell, chair of the Democratic Governors Association, issued the following statement tonight regarding Gov. John Lynch’s re-election victory in the New Hampshire gubernatorial election.

“Governor John Lynch didn’t back down from New Hampshire’s challenges, and the people of New Hampshire stood with him tonight. In a national recession and a tough political environment for incumbents, Governor Lynch won because he has always focused on the right priorities: economic recovery and putting people back to work. We congratulate him on his win and look forward to continuing to work together to share ideas about keeping New Hampshire and our country moving forward.”

In New Hampshire, the DGA spent $600,000, most of which funded issue advocacy ads about the record of Lynch’s Republican opponent, John Stephen.
