Caprio Chided

GOP guv candidate calls Dem “a petulant little child” for  Obama-can-“shove it” comments.

Chafee rebukes more in sadness than in anger.

Was “Shove It” comment appropriate?:

Caprio
“What happened this weekend was Washington back room at its worst.”
“This was a very human reaction.”
“I respect the President of the United States, don’t get me wrong.”

Chafee
“It didn’t make any sense.”
“It was a very positive day for our state…then these comments came out.”

Robitaille
“…or this is a petulant little child” who doesn’t know how to act.
“You’re not acting like a governor Frank.”

Block
“Absolute knucklehead.”
“It shocks me, we got to get serious…we have to focus on fixing our problems.”

How do you create jobs?

Caprio
“The way you create jobs is you get access to capitol to small businesses out there.”

Chafee
“You invest in infrastructure and education and that leads to companies” wanting to come to your community.

Robitaille
“I don’t believe that government creates sustainable jobs but the private sector does.”
“Businesses want to come where they can make more profit in a tax-friendly state.”

Block
“As a small-business owner I know how to create jobs.”
“And Frank your jobs plan is way off.”

What are the two specific things you would do first as governor?

Caprio
“I’m going to go down to the DMV and I’m not going to leave until that place works.”

Chafee
“I promise to repeal e-Verify.”
“The second act will be to tackle the budget.”

Robitaille
“The first thing is cut spending and the second thing is cut spending.”

Block
“I’ll give the state’s IT department 30 days to get the deadbeats off the welfare rolls.”

What grade would you give the state’s general assembly?

Caprio
“I’d give them a ‘C’…They could have done a lot more.”

Chafee
“I’m not going to grade them because I’m going to have to work with them. I’m not only running to win this election, I’m running to govern.”

Robitaille
“I’m going to give them an ‘F’ and that’s charitable.”

Block
“I’d give them a ‘D,’ but I’m willing to re-mediate and help them out.”

Was the stimulus a success?

Caprio
“The stimulus in my opinion was not a success at all.”

Chafee
“I’m a deficit hawk…and the stimulus was more spending.”

Robitaille
“I don’t think it was. The problem was all that stimulus money came with a lot of strings.”

Block
“No, definitely a failure. Too much of the stimulus did not stimulate.”
