Brown: “I’m on Message Discipline”

CA Dem says he's bored talking about "whore" controversy, but has been put on notice to not "say anything too controversial."

Transcript:

Guthrie: "One of your aides was [recorded] using an unflattering word for Ms. Whitman and you apologized. But do you really feel all that bad about it?"

Brown: "Look, I've talked about this so much it's really boring so I'm not going to talk about it anymore."

Guthrie: "Well you know, even your friends and your allies say they worry a little bit about you being kind of off-the-cuff and unscripted. Do you feel like you're going to be monitoring your words any more closely?"

Brown: "I'm on (puts hand on mouth) message discipline. They told me don't say anything too controversial."

Guthrie: "Is that hard for you?"

Brown: "Yeah, I like to say what I think. And I do think the fact that I'm not scripted and she is, and her script [has] been already said, it's not original."
