Around the country, there is surprisingly high awareness of Bloomberg and the prospect he might run in 2012 – and, in some quarters, like California, apparent enthusiasm for such an effort. It is always better to launch a run with widespread support at home (if only because the national media keys of such data). It is essential, if Bloomberg wants to launch a bid, that he get his homestate support up higher.
