The Page Interview: Rick Crawford

Mark Halperin talks Afghanistan, the Bush record on deficits, how to cut Medicare, and more with the GOP nominee in Arkansas' First Congressional District.  It is an open seat currently held by a retiring Democrat.

After the interview, the Crawford campaign emailed to clarify some comments.

"[Rick Crawford] wanted to make sure that he clarified a couple of things in his remarks about Medicare and Afghanistan. He was a little afraid that he misspoke on those two issues.

The first being that he in no way supports any kind of reductions in reimbursements to DR’s in the Medicare program. He feels that if ObamaCare becomes the law of the land it will be all we can do to sustain the program after the 500 billion dollar hit it will take.

Secondly, when it comes to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq he believes that we need to be clear about the mission our troops need to accomplish and trust the generals on the ground in their assessments of that mission."
