Past the Crossroads

There is a lot of money being raised and spent on both sides. Thus, four things are true and important: (1) both sides will, as the old saw goes, have enough money to get their message out; (2) Republicans are making a very hard sell to donors right now about how close they are to taking back the majority -- and checkbooks are opening; (3) some Senate and House races are about to see a huge infusion of cash, and some records will be broken; (4) given all the money on both sides, the content and quality of TV ads are going to matter more than the level of spending -- the pressure at this point is more on the admakers and message mavens than the finance directors.

Rove, Gillespie, and Co. raised more than 13 million bucks after Obama attacks.

Rove on Fox News: “The president’s done an excellent job of joining me and helping raise money for American Crossroads…Thank you very much Mr. President.”
