Rove: “They Think the American People Are So Stupid”

Former WH adviser says Dem’s foreign donor charge a tactic to take public focus away from administration’s failed policies.

Kilmeade: “Karl, they’ve upped the ante since we last talked. Why aren’t they backing down? What’s up?”

Rove: “You know what? If you’re in for a dime, you’re in for a dollar. The Associated Press says of their ad, they’re providing no evidence for their charge. The FactCheck[.ORG] respected organization led by Brooks Jackson formerly of the Wall Street Journal says, ‘This is a serious charge that requires serious evidence, Democrats have produced none.’ This is just bizarre to me. Why are the president and his people doing this?…Look, I’m only calling area codes inside the United States of America. In fact, we explicitly say we will not accept foreign money because it would be illegal since 1907, The Tillman Act. Come on. These people, they think the American people are so stupid that they’re going to be taken in by this and that we’re going to somehow forget the fact that they got a failed stimulus, a bad health care bill, that they’re running up the deficit and they’re spending like crazy. American people are focused on that not on this sort of goofy charge made without a scintilla of evidence.”
