Based on the available evidence, it seems pretty clear that the Democrats are just trying to (a) change the subject from unemployment; (b) rally their base by raising the twin boogeymen of Rove and "foreigners"; (c) somehow trick the Chamber of Commerce and Crossroads into releasing their donor lists (to prove there is no foreign money—and thereby give the Democrats some new billionaire/millionaire/corporate boogeymen to tout); and, (d) highlight for the press and public the fact that Republicans this cycle are putting more TV ads on the air—by a LOT in many targeted races. Democrats have no proof of anything illegal—and they know it.
